Description of service
Recently got a porch chop bone lodged in my throat and coughed it up but a small sliver went in my sinus cavity. I had to go to the local emergency room for care. Once there they put me on oxygen as my oxygen level was low. The doctor came in an examined my throat and could see that it was very tender and swollen. He then sent me to xray to see if the bone was still there. After the xray, I then saw the doctor again. It was too swollen to tell if there was a sliver there.
Review of Service
At the hospital, I was immediately taken in a room and hooked up to oxygen. The nurse stayed with me the entire time until the doctor came in. Once the doctor checked me he called a specialist for his opinion. I was xrayed and brought back to the emergency room. The staff and the doctor were very professional and courteous to me. The doctor seemed genuinely concerned and wanted me to go to the nearest large town and see a specialist. He gave me instructions and my daughter what to do if it got worse before seeing a specialist. What signs to look for and the hospital called my home later to check on me.
Tips
If it is truly an emergency, go straight to the hospital emergency room. If it is not a real problem check for local walk in clinics. Be sure to take along any insurances you have.
