Description of service
My daughter fell was jumping and fell and hurt her finger. It was swollen and she couldn't bend it. It cost $1410.00 for an emergency room visit and the doctor charged an additional $250.00. They took x-rays and put a splint on her finger.
Review of Service
We were on vacation when my daughter injured her finger. I wasn't sure whether she actually needed togo to the emergency room or not, so I caled her pediatrician. He advised me to be on the safe side and go to the hospital.
Because I wasn't familar with the city, I had a difficult locating the hospital. When we arrived to the emergency room, it was three hours before we saw a doctor. He ordered an x-ray and said that it looked good. He told me to leave it rap in bandages for a few days and it would be fine. My daughter couldn't bend her fingers and they stayed swolled for several weeks after we returned from our vacation. We had to see a specialist and discovered that her bones in her finger were actually cracked and physical therapy was needed to correct the problem. The cost of the emergency room visit was outragous.
Tips
I advice not going to the emergency for minor injuries. It is a waste of time and money. Try to find alternative emergency clinics if your regular physician is not available.
