Description of service
I fell down the stairs at work (I was text messaging while walking; a very bad idea and I don't recommend it!) I tried to ignore it for the rest of the day but by the end of the day, my ankle was swollen and painful. I went to the emergency room that night and got crutches and got my ankle wrapped up. I could have used worker's compensation since it was at work that it happened, but it was my own dumb fault and besides my co-pay was only $20 so I wasn't too worried.
Review of Service
The initial service was very good. I got in to be seen very quickly which I did not expect at all, having never gotten in quickly to the emergency room in my entire life! The doctor was nice and seemed competant. The only problem was that no matter how many tikmes I reminded them that I was tall, they insisted on giving me the crutches for women instead of men. The crutches for women only go up to 5'8" and I am 5'8" so it hurt my back a lot. I finally had to go back and get the "men's" crutches, which were actually unisex, just different heights. I don't know why the first person was so stuck on giving me "women's" crutches.
Tips
Try to get in to urgent care instead of the ER if you can, as for most people it is much cheaper. For me it didn't make a difference, but I think that is unusual.
