Description of service
I trained with a personal trainer in a gym setting. The trainer took me through a "circuit" type training where I did numerous weight lifting exercises and then a set of cardio and back to weight lifting. I also was advised in what kinds of food to eat and was given examples of foods that would be helpful for me to lose weight and gain muscle. I started out having training sessions 2x a week but then tapered to once a week because of cost.
Review of Service
I found an excellent trainer who was very helpful to me and was also very supportive. She sat down with me to tailor a food plan that works for me and my picky eating. She also helped me to start off slow and build up the exercise so I could start to build lean muscle. I had a great experience with this trainer. The only bad thing about training with a trainer was the money side. It gets to be very expensive to have a trainer each week. The $63 price listed above was a special, so I could not keep going forever. My trainer helped me to create a workout plan that I can do on days when I'm not training with her. This was very helpful.
Tips
Find a trainer that you trust. Look at his/her body type and make sure they look healthy and not TOO skinny. You want someone who can understand where you're coming from. You also want someone who is working out in a healthy way and not an obsessive way. Make sure that your trainer is spotting you while you train, and not staring off into space. I witnessed other trainers at the gym doing this while women were training. You are paying for their time and they should be attentive to you throughout your full session. Also, make sure that you have a food and workout plan that is realistic for you. It's working for me because my plans are things I can actually do and not outlandish. Also ask for recommendations from friends or other people at your gym.
