Description of service

I hired a lawyer for a DUI case. The fee was three thousand five hundred dollars. It was a flat fee, with no other charges, unless there would be the need for very specific lab tests, or witnesses to be called, in my case there was no need for either.

Review of Service

The service was sub-par, in my opinion. I was referred to this specific firm by many sources and because they were considered "the best" I didn't mind paying more then other lawyers were charging, (although I must say that the outcome of my case probably would have been the same either way.) My problem was that there were a couple things that the lawyers promised that they would do, and they didn't, again it probably wouldn't have changed the outcome of the case, but monetarily I believe it would have made a difference. I also had problems contacting the lawyer associated with my case, on the phone. It would take days, at times, for her to return my phone calls, if at all as it would usually end up with me placing a call back to her.

Tips

My advice would be to simply shop around. If you find yourself in the predicament I was in don't just go for the most expensive thinking that it will make a difference, solely on that factor. Since you'll probably be paying a lot of money to many different places in the next 12 or so months (fines, court costs, counseling, license renewal...) save as much as you can on the lawyer part and take you lumps.
