Our receptionist/administrative assistant was out sick for a day. We paid $120 for a temporary administrative assistant to cover her duties for one day.
Review of Service
Normally if our receptionist/administrative assistant is off, several of our employees take shifts of an hour or two to cover the front desk. Unfortunately on this day we had a huge meeting and everyone was really busy. We called a local temporary company and hired a someone to cover for the day. The temporary employee was at our office within an hour of the call we made to the temp company, which we found very impressive. She did a pretty good job. No one really had time to sit down and explain much to her so there were some mistakes made on the scheduling spreed sheet she was in charge of updating but it wasn't really her fault. She was very polite and responsive to the customers. The only issue we had was that she took an extra long lunch, about 15 minutes more than the hour we allow. This caused the person covering her to be late to a meeting.
Tips
We didn't call around to price any other places as our time was so short. If you have the time I would try a few places to see who can get you the best deal.
