Description of service
This service is for the per hour charge for a freelance editor to check over some writing I am doing for a new book in progress. The freelance editor charges me $65 an hour to proof read and to correct any mistakes he or she can find. I have had them edit for me about ten total hours for a total cost of $650. The fee is a flat $65 an hour, no matter which editor I get to work on the book.
Review of Service
This is a great service, I can't always catch my mistakes and the editor usually does catch them. There have been a few times where I will have a second editor go over everything and find mistakes but that doesn't happen much. I am writing a 75,000 word book on business fraud and finding someone who has the knowledge to keep up is hard to come by, so I am very happy I found this particular freelance editor.
Tips
Call around to book publishers in your area and see what they have to offer. Usually they have people on site, and if not they will be able to refer you to a good freelance editor. You can also check your local yellow pages, or of course the internet.
