the Cost of Walking Tours

A local walking tour of the "tour of homes" in our area. It is a walking tour through the old homesites that are considered historical on the historic list. Included was the tour and description of the old area, the parks, historical monuments.

The tour guide was excellent. What was so great about this particular tour was the company limited the number of participants to twelve. I guess that is because we were walking and the tour wanted us to be able to stay together and hear the guide. The guide was very informative. He waited until the rest of us caught up with the group before telling the history of one of the homes, or a site, or park. It would have been nice to actually go into the homes but that was for another tour. This tour was just a walk through the area noting the exterior of the homes and learning all about the home and the areas history. I especially enjoyed learned about the first owners of the home as well as the now owners. The tour guide was great. As we walked along he would give out little extra information along the way. We felt we got some stuff for free!

Where good walking shoes, if it is hot out carry an umbrella or wear a hat, stay close to the guide. I found that the guide was more than willing to share information as we walked from one important place to the next. Bring a bottle of water and be prepared for no bathroom.
