Description of service
We took an hour long trolley tour in Dubuque Iowa. We rode a trolley that had used in the late 1900's and were given information about the city back then. It was $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Review of Service
This was a pretty fun tour but a little long. I've been on other trolley tours where the trolley was just a way to get around. This tour was more about the actual trolley and the history of the trolley. Our guide and all of the people working for the trolley company dressed in olde timey clothes and told us about all the history of the trolley and how it was used to move the miners around when it was first built. We learned about the businesses that popped up along the trolley line. It was a little bit dull for the children. It was also pretty cold the day we went and the trolley was an open car so we were not protected from the elements. I think if this had been a quick 20 minute or so tour we would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Tips
Be sure to find out if the trolley you'll be in is open or enclosed and be sure to dress appropriately.
