the Cost of Motorcycle Towing

Last fall I went to get my motorcycle out for a nice autumn ride and the bike wouldn't start. I don't own a truck myself, and the mechanic's shop is too far to push it there so I had to hire a tow truck service to get my bike to the mechanic. I use a motorcycle only shop that is about 30 miles from my home, and the total cost for the tow was $50 - a flat fee they charge. I called the tow truck company who was there to pick up the bike in just over an hour and took it to the shop without flaw.

I hate having to use this service. Every time I have to tow my bike it makes me want to go and buy a truck. But the company that towed my bike were very gentle and made sure not to cause any damage. It took them a long time to get out to my house (after I called them) but it wasn't too bad. I'd say overall I got a good deal because other companies would charge me double because it was a kind of far trip (thirty miles).

Look in your phone book under towing and call the different companies to get quotes. Go with a repatable company that will do it for the lowest price.
