Description of service
I had a service done to replace the voltage regulator on my Sprint. Of this, $300 was parts, and $200 was labor. It's worth noting that this includes a $40 surcharge to have the part shipped second day from Georgia as opposed to waiting a week for it to arrive via ground shipping (which would have rather obviously been included).
Review of Service
I was pleased with the service I received. My bike no longer drained its battery after a week or so-- the regulator is the device responsible for recharging the battery off of the alternator while the engine is running, for those who are unaware. I thought the price for the part was a little on the high side, but some quick searching on the web reassured me that their markup was minimal-- and I wasn't about to argue with them before they performed a fairly intensive job on my bike!
Tips
One thing I wish I'd done is shopped around a bit for someone who was willing to make a deal with me; when your bike is in pieces on their rack, they've got the upper hand and have no real reason to negotiate with you. I'll be forewarned next time, and call around a bit first; if they're not willing to cut a straight deal, I could always offer to let them do an oil change as well, since many dealerships will jump at that offer in return for a small discount!
