the Cost of Web Site Design Services

The web site design firm that I used provided me with an e-commerce web site with a shopping cart that I could place my products in. The service included designing my home-page, product categories, about us, policies and security certificate.

This service was horrible. The designer used fome graphics from print-shop. His spelling and grammar skills were atrocious. He locked the site so that any changes to anything other than the shopping cart had to be completed by him and there was an additional charge everytime a change was and those changes took anywhere from one to three weeks before that were done. This was really bad because the public was able to read all of those spelling and grammar errors while I waited on him to fix them. Each time he fixed one mistake he would end up making another so it was a never ending cycle. The web-site itself was nothing to brag about and I discovered that I could do much better on my own and that I was able to make changes anytime I wanted.

Find a local designer if you aren't comfortable with creating your own or if you want a more professional image. That way you can sit down with this person and go over the site and make improvements as needed. The charge will also be much less because they have to see you and it's hard to scam someone face to face.
