Description of service
My family have loved our dog for over 14 years, but it just got to the point where it was almost sad to see our golden retriever limping around. He had arthritis and needed help just to stand up. I couldn't take any more seeing him struggle just to eat. I took him in and they allowed me to say goodbye then they just injected him and he passed away quick and painlessly. It was sad, but it had to be done. The $300 was for the shot as well as the cremation of the dog so we wouldn't have to take him home and bury him.
Review of Service
One of the saddest days of my life, but I feel better knowing he's in a better place. You can pay a wide variety of prices for a service such as this, you can even get an urn to save the ashes in. It would have been to sad so I opted not to. The veterinarian was very considerate and made the situation as comfortable as possible.
Tips
Don't let your dog suffer just because putting him down would be too hard. It will be better for both the dog and the family if you put him out of misery when the pain is just too much. My kids were sad and it took a couple weeks to get over, but we survived and will never forget our dog of 14 years.
