Description of service
When our dog needed to be put down I made a few calls. The cheapest price I was quoted was 35.00 then I called a friend I remembered that worked for a vet part time and asked her what she knew about having a dog put down. She said the humane society didn't charge a fee at all. So we went there, since our cheapest quote was for 35.00 my husband went there and donated 35.00 to their cause.
Review of Service
The service was great since we live in the south the dirt here is clay. If we were to dig a hole in the back yard I think it might have taken hours to dig one big enough for that dog. He was a very good sized dalmatian and male at that. I don't honestly know if the males are generally a bit larger but in some cases they are. He was a big dog needless to say. They did dispose of his remains as well, for the same fee of zero. Of course we still just did the one donation and my Husband was quite happy to put him out of his misery and not have to try and dig a hole too.
Tips
I believe no donation is more acceptable however my husband felt obligated to pay his least quoted price even when it hurt in all ways. I highly recommend calling Your local humane society if You ever need this type of service.
