Description of service
This service was to have our family dog put to sleep, also known as euthanasia. The dog I grew up with had tumors all over him and seemed like he lost the will to live, so our local vet advised us that we should take away his pain by putting him to sleep. The total cost of the euthanasia was $60. After this was done, we took our fallen family member home for a proper burial. They would have disposed of the body for an aditional charge, but that didn't seem right with me.
Review of Service
This is a horrible service, and a good service all in one. We hated losing our long time family member, but he was really sick and didn't have much time to live anyway. The vet said it was the best thing to do, he was really nice about it and was very sympathetic to our feelings. The nurses were even nice to us and were very somber.
Tips
I would stick to your family vet on this type of procedure. The last thing you want to do is have this service performed and then regret it later. A vet that knows your pet will know the best thing to do. If you don't have a regular vet, then I suggest you find one that is willing to be the most sympathetic.
