Description of service
Our beloved dog was hit by a car in the middle of the night so he required emergency services.First off let me save you a step and say if you live anywhere in southeastern Ohio good luck finding a vet open for emergency situations. The closest places where either Parkersburg or Columbus. To walk through the door was an automatic $48. The examination was $27.
They needed to do xrays so that was an additional $75. Unfortunately our pet needed to be put down so the euthanasia was an additional $50. We could have saved money on the burial but decided to let them take care of that so it would be easier on the kids. The total for the burial was an additional 40 dollars. Total cost 240 dollars.
Review of Service
I must say the vet was very prompt getting to us. No wait time and the whole process xrays etc. took less than 1 hour. The only part that was very hard was what seemed to be their lack of feeling towards our situation. Anyone who loses a pet knows how difficult it can be to make decisions on the spur of the moment. They did offer different options but said it could run to the 2000-3000 dollar range and to be honest that was not in our budget. They made us feel like we did not care for our animal because we were not willing to spend that money on an outcome that was not a guarantee.
Tips
If at all possible do not use emergency services.I know this can be tough but in the long run you can save a lot if you wait to see your regular vet.
