the Cost of Dog Walking

The $20 per visit price is for 30 minutes spent with my dog. The dog walker will accomodate the owner's request as to how the time is spent. She will walk your dog or play inside your house with the dog for the 30 minutes depending upon your request. I usually have the dog walker visit in the middle of the day when I know I will be working late at my job.

As best I can tell, the service was good. My dog is pretty tired when I get home but, of course, not too tired to eat dinner. It is sometimes hard to judge whether the dog walker spent enough time at my house or even took the dog for a walk, but my walker seems honest and reliable and my dog is healthy and happy when I come home, so it is worth the cost for me.

I would suggest, obviously, that the dog walker meet your dog before you hire them for any services. You can tell a lot about them by how they interact with your pet: do they get down on the pet's level to say hello, do they remember the sex of your dog after you have told them, do they seem to understand the instructions regarding treats, water, etc.? I also request that my dog walker leave a note describing the visit so that I know whether my dog went to the bathroom, what time the visit took place, and what the dog walker did while she was here. My best tip is to trust your judgment and don't hire someone that you are not completely comfortable with because they not only have the keys to your house but also the responsbility for your dog.
