the Cost of Dog Walking

For the price of $20, our dog walker will spend 30 minutes with the dog going for a walk around the neighborhood or, if there is bad weather, she will stay inside and play with the dog and just spend time with him. Sometimes we will pay $27 for a 45-minute visit/walk, but the 30 minute walk seems to be the best option and is enough time for a good walk.

One of the hardest parts about finding a dog walker is knowing that they are reliable and will be there on a preset schedule. We are satisfied with our walker because she is always there when she promises and leaves a note to let me know what they did, where they walked, etc. She also likes animals and our dog really seems to like her and gets excited when she comes over. There have been a few times when I stayed home sick from work and forgot to cancel, so that is how I know she is on time. The price is pretty competitive with other walkers, so it seems fair and I don't use her every day so it is not excessive in the monthly bills.

Get some referrals and talk to some current and also former clients of the dog walker. Also make sure that the person you meet initially will be the person doing the walking; some walker services use other people that you may never meet or even know about. Be nice to your dog by using a dog walker, but be responsible and walk your own dog when you can.
