Description of service
Puppies and aging dogs have trouble making it through the day without a walk in the middle of the day. A dog walker is an option for people who work too far away to come home at lunch time. For a fee, the dog walker will come to your home and follow your instructions on how to care for your dog. This may include taking the dog for a walk around the neighborhood or just playing ball in the yard.
Review of Service
The dog walker will want to set up an initial meeting to acquaint himself with your pet. You'll need to provide a key or garage code so the dog walker can gain entrance to your home. You may also be able to negotiate the rate. Dog walkers prefer repeat weekly business. The rate quoted for coming twice a week will probably be higher than if they come daily. If you have more than one dog you can ask about a multi-dog discount.
Tips
Interview a few dog walkers before you pick one. Some are professionals who make their living walking dogs. Others are high school students looking for spending money. Ask if they are bonded and carry business insurance. Check to see if they offer other services such as mail pick up and plant watering in case you are ever away on a trip.
