Description of service
I pay 30.00 a week, or 120.00 a month for a weekly water color painting lesson. I pay monthly, if I wanted to pay 6 months in advance I would get a small discount.
The price includes the expert advice of a professional artist who has won awards for watercolor paintings. The class is small, only 3 of us and is just 1 1/2 hours long. We meet every Saturday morning. We each have different abilities and the instructor spends time with each of us, teaching at our level.
Review of Service
I would rate the service excellent. The instructor is an accomplished, knowledgeable artist and a fine teacher. The studio is clean, neat and full of light. The setting is very peaceful and conducive to creativity. The class always starts on time and ends on time. It is such a small class we have individual attention each week. The instructor provides lots of examples from her own work and from books so we can visualize what we are trying to achieve. The instructor provides easels so we don't have to bring one each week, which is nice, we bring all our other supplies.
Tips
Definitely ask about the cost of supplies when you enroll. I have spent a small fortune on brushes, paints, papers etc. to use in class. Look at the instructors art and make sure you like it before you enroll. The style should be something you are comfortable with. Ask what kind of water color you will be working with, there are different kinds.
Ask if there is a discount if you sign up for a series. Ask if there is an opportunity to exhibit your work for the public to see- our instructor will help us sign our work up for the state fair if we like.
