Description of service
I went for an annual gynecology checkup complete with pap smear, breast exam, and everything else. It was a new gynecologist for me so I had to give my history first, then get examined. It all went very smoothly and was nice and easy. This price is for the visit and the lab fee for the pap smear.
Review of Service
The nurse practitioner (who works for a doctor so she can prescribe medications) was respectful and quick to get everything done. She didn't seem to do any procedures that weren't necessary but took care of things and wanted to get me checked out in every way that was needed.
Tips
Make sure that you go often enough to get your ob/gyn appointment taken care of or else things like cervical cancer and breast cancer can sneak up on you. Besides doing your own breast self exams, it is important to get checked out once a year or once every two or three years, depending upon if you are currently sexually active or not.
Nurse practitioners can sometimes be cheaper than doctors and are just as good, so see if you can find a nurse practitioner. More important though, is to get someone you are comfortable with and stick with them so that they know you and your issues.
