The $400 price represents the full fee for the service of our recent home appraisal we did before putting our home on the market. The home appraisal is basically an opinion of worth of the house. We got a complete analysis of the estimated value of our home. Factors such as condition, proximity to services, and overall neighborhood values were all taken into account, among others. We got a big graph and spread sheet back, along with other documents in a binder.
Review of Service
We were very happy with the service. Very professional final report that we got back, and our guy was very professional and easy to work worth. Factoring in the large amounts of money we were dealing with in the whole transaction of selling our home and buying another, $400 as really a small price to be working with. In sum, the $400 was a great investment in our eyes because we believed it to play a large role in us getting a much larger sum back when we sold our house. Great return on investment so to speak.
Tips
My tip would be to absolutely go through the process of getting your home appraised if you are going to put it on the market. If you aren't selling it, there probably isn't really a reason to. If you are selling it though, its an absolute must.
