Description of service

this was a basic cooking class for sauteeing. they also offer classes for different types of cooking, depending on skill level and comfort level of certain basic cooking techniques. Instruction and tips from master chefs, as well as tasty recipes that are simple to prepare, but delicious to eat!

Review of Service

I have taken basic cooking classes in the past, and always felt I was above my skill level because my food usually tastes good. I realized recently, however, that my techniques in the kitchen are kind of bad, and I never learned some of the basics that will really add more character, flavor and wow factor to my cooking. This saute class was awesome because it gave great tips and tricks and explained why certain things are done the way they are: i.e. adding cold meat to a cold pan will cause it to stick! I didn't know that is why my food stuck to the pan in the past, and rarely preheated my pan, or took my meat out of the fridge about a half hour before cooking so that it would warm up a bit and cook evenly. Also, I was given the lowdown on different saute oils and great uses for each, and about the "smoke factor"--that's how you know when a pan is ready to use for cooking. Very interesting and highly recommended.

Tips

This class was great for just about anybody to take. Even people who consider themselves good cooks could learn something from this class, and would likely benefit from the tips and recipes.
