Description of service
The lesson I took was in total 2 hours long. It wasn't a big business so the I simply paid $100 and that was it, no other extra fees. The teacher was very nice and there were about 5 or 6 other people although the room seemed like it was set up for 10 or 12. We learned basic skills like whipping and baking. We baked cupcakes and made whipped cream for a while and then we moved on to a saute with steak and some vegetables. While we were sauteing we baked a potato. When we finished with that we ate it all and we were free to leave.
Review of Service
Overall I really enjoyed the cooking class. Although it was a lot of money I think it was worth the price. From what I've seen I think it's about average. I thought it was more than a little odd that we started with dessert but thinking about it now I suppose it was so that our saute didn't get cold. The food was good although the vegetables in the saute weren't exactly my favorite that's not their fault really. The teacher was pleasant and knowledgeable. She managed her time very well although it was obvious some students needed more attention than others.
Tips
Just look for a small cooking class. Try not to get roped into any big commercial business trying to rip people off. The less people in the class, the better and try to find out exactly what you're making ahead of time.
