Description of service
I sent my daughter to a 3 hour beginning cooking class. The cost for the one time class was $110 and included all materials.
Review of Service
I'm not much of a cook so when my daughter graduated high school, moved out on her own and asked me for help with learning to cook, I knew I'd have to get outside help.
This class met once and covered all the basics from how to measure wet and dry ingredients, learning to half or double a recipe and the basics of safe food handling. When she got back from the class she was really excited and felt she'd learned a lot of new information. Within a few weeks she was expanding on the information she'd learned by following internet tutorials.
The only complaint I had about the class was that it was the only one they offered. I would have liked to find a series of classes that could get more in depth and actually teach some good, simple recipes instead of being a one time class that only focused on the very basics.
Tips
If you don't know how to cook at all, you have to start with the very basics. Taking a class like this can build a great foundation.
