Description of service
I took a 90 minute cooking class for beginners. It went over the fundamentals of cooking. There was no hands on instruction.
Review of Service
Now that I've moved out on my own, I don't have the money I used to have to get dinner out every night. I'd tried cooking but found that most recipes were simply too complicated for me, as I knew next to nothing about cooking. I found a local place that offered a very basic cooking class.
This cooking class went over things like how to take proper measurements, how to substitute different ingredients to lower fat or calorie content and how to store food properly. It definitely gave me a great basis as a person who knew next to nothing.
The only complaint I had is that I did think it would be somewhat hands on. However, considering all the things they went over in an hour and a half I can see that there just wouldn't have been time to do hands on instruction.
Tips
Be sure you know exactly what kind of instruction you will be getting. Make sure you show up on time as they often go over the very basics at the beginning of the class.
