Description of service
The lessons I took were for beginner group ballroom dancing. The session cost $63 for residents of Sunnyvale and $77 for non-residents. Each weekly lesson was an hour long and the session lasted for two months (or eight total lessons). The lessons required that you wear leather soled shoes, so if you own a pair, you luck out, otherwise you need to buy a pair to wear during the lessons.
Review of Service
It was a fairly good beginners dance class. The moves were pretty basic, easy enough for pretty much anyone to be able to do, though sufficient enough to get you through and entire song on the dance floor. The teacher seemed very knowledgeable about many different types of dance. My only real pet peeve was that if you took the class with someone (in an effort to learn to dance together), you didn't get to dance with them very much, if at all. The idea being that if you or your partner weren't understanding the move, you'd get the chance to dance with someone who does and learn how it's suppose to feel. However, I found that if I understood how to do the move, dancing with someone who didn't inhibited me from getting better at it. Although, I've taken other beginner dance classes with this same learning technique.
Tips
Group classes are great if don't have someone to take dancing with you, and will save you a LOT of money, but if you are looking to learn with someone specific, private lessons are much more beneficial.
