the Price of Ballroom Dance Lessons

My husband and I took ballroom dancing classes. It was $50 per couple for a one hour class. There were packages available to get cheaper classes if you signed up for more than 5 weeks at a time.

This class wasn't for us. We knew nothing about ballroom dancing and thought the class would be a beginner class. It turned out to be mixed with people of varying levels of experience. Some might like the mix but to us it was intimidating. The teacher didn't give us much individual attention. We were given basic instructions and told to practice. We were told to look at other couples who had more experience. We tried to watch what they were doing but it's hard when you're also trying to watch your feet. Every 10 minutes or so the teacher would come around and move our arms or give us a little bit of advice. We basically felt like we would have gotten the same amount of help out of just going to a place where people are ballroom dancing and watching them.

See if you can sit in on a class before you spend any money. Be sure to know if you want a class with more practice or more individual attention.
