the Price of Ballroom Dance Lessons

7 dance lessons (including a free introductory lesson) in each of the following dance genres: salsa, rumba, tango, foxtrot, quickstep, meringue. One-on-one time with instructor once a week as well as group lessons once a week. Focus was on dancing with my partner, but also time was spent dancing with other students to improve our partnered dance skills. Lessons were approximately one hour long each session.

Instructor was extremely helpful and provided specific tips and instruction for our specific difficulties and needs. Group lessons were fun giving us an opportunity to learn with a different partner - we also appreciated that partnering with a stranger was not mandatory. The facility was very nice and well maintained. The instructor did spend a significant amount of time pushing the sale of further lessons or an extended lesson program which was not always appreciated. However, the pricing seemed fair for the lesson course we did participate in, though we did not choose to continue the courses.

If you are new to dance lessons, i recommend looking for an introductory package deal (like we did) in order to get a feel for whether you want to continue in instruction. Many providers offer a first lesson for free and a first set of lessons at a discount rate if purchased at once. You will find that continued lessons after this introductory offer are typically at a higher rate.
