Description of service
We paid to join the Chamber of Commerce in Asheville, NC. Our business has between around ten employees, so we paid the suggested rate of $415. This covered our membership, let us display our materials in the visitor's center, subscribed us to the Chamber newsletters and magazines, and gave us a discount on business supplies from companies the Chamber had contacted with.
Review of Service
For the money, the membership in the Chamber of Commerce has provided useful. We are now able to display our materials in the visitor's center, which gets a lot of traffic due to this being a touristy town. We also get all the newsletters and emails from the Chamber, which keeps us up to date on what is going on in town and lets us know of any events we should try to be at in order to increase exposure. We have used our discount many times, and plan to continue to use it in the future. We have also met many new business associates at networking events held by the Chamber. Perhaps the most useful thing is the website for members of the Chamber only. This allows you to interact with other Chamber members, discuss business, and get members-only discounts that can help you with your bottom line.
Tips
Make sure to maximize your potential with the Chamber. Be sure to get your money's worth by attending the events they hold, prominently displaying your materials in the visitor's center, advertising in the Chamber publications, and using your discount. If you're not going to use these benefits you're just wasting your money.
