Description of service
Recently, our family dog got into some weeds and brush and had ruined it's fur coat (she is a Chow). There were all types of stuff tangled in her hair and us washing her wasn't getting it all out, so we had to take her to get groomed. I found an advertisement in the newspaper for a grooming service, that ended up being in someone's home. They had a whole grooming set up in their basement, and was actually very professional looking. Our dog got her hair cut and washed, nails clipped and even got a flea treatment all for a flat fee of $50.
Review of Service
It was kind of odd to go to someone's home to have my dog groomed. Normally we go to a professional place with an office, or the vet, but I didn't have a lot of money and this was a great alternative. They were very professional and had everything they needed to properly groom a dog. I don't get her groomed on a regular basis, but the next time it needs done I will be returning to the same place.
Tips
There are all types of places that will groom animals. The vet, the pet store, professional companies and people that work out of their home. The best thing to do is call around to different places and get a good feel for what the price will be and try to find something cheap. You can also use the internet for all types of grooming resources.
