Description of service
The service I paid for was an inspection of my gums to determine if there is anything of concern. The service was similar to a dentist, except that the periodontist was observing my gums more than my teeth. The service involved the inspection, and suggestions of what I can do to help prevent any gum disease.
Review of Service
The quality of the service was wonderful and the entire examination was a lot less painful and had a less unnerving experience than being in a dentist's office. The periodontist was quite helpful and covered any questions or concerns I had. Additionally, this periodontist was referred to me by my dentist, so my service included a diagnosis based on my previous dental history so I knew I was receiving a decision based off of my complete dental history. I have large concerns over the health of my mouth and it was satisfying to know that my gums were in good shape. It was explained to me that sometimes the only way to tell if you have a disease of the gums is to visit a periodontist, and I am glad that I got a clean bill of health when it came to my mouth.
Tips
My only tip with this type of service would be to ask for a recommendation from you dentist. This way, you can have your dentist fax over any documents the periodontist may need to make the best assessment of the health of your gums.
