the Price of a Periodontist

I was referred here from a hygienist in the same office. The specialist put me in a comfortable dentist's chair and educated me on the various aspects of prevention of periodontal disease such as: correct brushing and flossing technique and abstaining from smoking and tobacco products. I was give a thorough exam of the teeth and gum which involved thorough inspection and measurement of gingival recession.

The quality of service here was very good. The education I received was more than adequate.

Although, the follow-up procedure estimate was a lot more expensive than I had anticipated and I did go to another dentist and was not given quite the same sense of urgency as I had here.

I was advised by my newer dentist that such a procedure is not yet necessary.

I would certainly advise anyone to use common sense before going ahead with an expensive procedure. A 2nd opinion certainly never hurts.
