Description of service
I got a gum graft on the front bottom part of my mouth, over three different teeth. They had to take a sample of the tissue from the roof of my mouth in order to graft it where there was recession. It took about two hours total. The periodontist cut off a section of tissue from the roof of my mouth and sewed it up onto the other part of my gum.
After he sewed it on, he put this sort of putty stuff onto my gums to protect my gums. I had to use a special mouthwash for two weeks until the putty was taken off and the stitches taken out.
Review of Service
It hurt a lot. They had to cut open parts of my gums and sewed the other tissue onto it. Everything about it hurt. The tissue cut off of the roof of my mouth hurt, the Novocaine injection hurt, the sewing of the tissue onto my gums hurt. However, six months later, the gums look great and don't hurt at all any more. There was no infection or anything, so I think he did a good job.
Tips
Get a referral from your dentist since they know the people in the business and who is good. If you're scared of the pain, just communicate with the periodontist and let him or her know. They are good at helping people who are afraid.
