I had a periodontal cleaning. They also provide Periodontal care, including periodontal cleaning, surgeries, and treatments of certain periodontal diseases and bone loss.

I am a fraidy-cat when it comes to going to the dentist. I was referred to a periodontist because I had delayed the dentist for so long, I have severe bone loss. The periodontist was exceptional, and made me feel calm and relaxed while I had a periodontal cleaning, as well as came up with a treatment plan for possible future periodontal surgery. I was at ease in the chair (though I think the Nitrous Oxide was helpful!), and while I am not exactly looking forward to my next visit for the second quadrant cleaning, I am not having anxiety attacks about it. The staff was extremely considerate, as well as patient and understanding about my nervousness, and did everything they could to help ease my discomfort. I will continue to go there in the future.

If you are not comfortable at a particular Periodontists' office, don't keep going there. Chances are, your first impression is correct, and they will not get better in time. Try to find somebody else. Most will see you for an initial free consultation, and you can feel out which periodontist is right for you.
