the Price of a Dental Cleaning and Check-up

I paid for a dental checkup which included full x-rays (18 films). This dentist offers a 5% discount to clients who pay in cash or check, which is one of the reasons I chose his office; the above price reflects the charges with the discount.

I thought that the service was fairly good. The dental technician who took my x-rays tried to be patient even though I had a hard time due to a gag reflex. Her decision to make a loud comment to a coworker about it when she thought I couldn't hear was in poor taste, however.

The dentist was excellent; he gave a frank assessment of my oral health and just recommended a cleaning.

If you have a vicious gag reflex that makes it hard to get oral x-rays, tell the technician. Panting is supposed to help, as is lifting an arm or a leg during the x-ray to distract yourself.
