The service I received was a routine dental cleaning. The appointment started with the dentist cleaning taking 4 bite wing x-rays of my back teeth. Next, the dentist cleaned my teeth with special cleaning instruments. After this the dentist polished my teeth with a gritty, fluoride containing paste. My teeth were then flossed and i was given a four minute fluoride treatment after which i was not able to eat or drink for approximately thirty minutes. The cleaning cost was $46 while with bite wing x-rays cost about $25

I feel the the service I received was very good. The dentist was gentle while cleaning my teeth and took the x-rays quickly. i really appreciate this because this is usually the worst part of the appointment for me. During the appointment the dentist explained everything he did, and why it was being done. He pointed out how and where i could improve brushing at home and did not get angry when i told him that i do not floss every day. Because I do not have many fillings I have x-rays taken about once a year. After developing the x-rays the dentist shows them to me and points out any problem areas or new cavities.

I think one of the best ways to find a dentist is from referrals from friends or family. A dentist is someone you need to put a lot of trust in so don't be afraid to shop around if you are not satisfied with the care or treatment you are given. Another good way to find a dentist is to call a local dental laboratory and ask if there are any dentists in your area that send the dental lab good quality work. The dental lab would be happy to make recommendations and is a great source of an unbiased opinion since they get to see the work done by a dentist and know which ones show a lot of attention to detail and which ones are taking short cuts
