Description of service
After purchase of new lighting, consisting of 5 pieces, I did not desire to wait the 5 weeks required for an in house electrician from the lighting retailer to do the job. I therefore hired an electrician to basically do all work necessary to make the lights work. One fixture proved especially difficult being geared to european lighting voltages. The electrician had to spend a lot of time on that particular piece, about as much as he did on the other 4 fixtures combined. I located this particular electrician through a referral from a realtor who deals a lot with unfinished new condominiums (abundant in Miami these days).
Review of Service
I would rate the service as excellent. I am assuming the price I paid was reasonable, but not being conversant in these things I am not sure. The electrician showed up on time as promised, which is more one can say about many other home service personnel these days, especially here in Miami. Total work took approximately 7 hours. As indicated, the majority of this related to one particularly difficult fixture installation. Overall he provided great service and a month later the fixtures still work perfectly.
Tips
I am glad I went with a referral as opposed to a random selection from the phone book or Internet. I didn't solicit multiple prices which might have led to paying more than I could have. However, considering the time involved I feel I got a decent deal. I made a decision to go with a referral versus price shopping a route which may not be best for you.
