Description of service
We had a professional Electrician come out and run two new 220v circuits for our Clothes Dryer, and our Kitchen Range. He worked for 6 hours at a rate of $65 and hour. We were charged an additional amount for materials but that is not included here. He was able to do the work without creating any additional repair need and, completed the job in one day.
Review of Service
I felt our electrician was probably overpriced, but we had just purchased the house and had some specific needs for our existing appliances. Unfortunately, when you need things in a hurry sometimes you have to pay more. All the workmanship was great, and everything worked fine. We just felt from different recommendations afterwards that we could have found a better deal.
Tips
Well, the best and most obvious advice, is to plan ahead. Needing any kind of construction service work in a short amount of time, will always result in higher prices and snap decisions. The more lead time you can give them the better deal you will get. That issue aside you should always check the references and licensing of the contractors you allow to work on your home. Their insurance and bond is your primary recourse if there work is not up to par.
