Description of service
G=We had an electrician come to our home to check wiring and look over our electrical along with repaing anything needed. As we live far out in the county, it cost us over $150 for travel and $95/hour for labor. No materials were required as we had everything available. We had the electrician install a light in the living room and a security light in our store which is next to our home.
Review of Service
I feel we paid alot but unfortunately because of our location, it is standard practice to charge alot for travel. Most companies come at least a 100 miles or more to get here and when weather is bad, well that increases the cost. The positive of the service was that they came at the designated time and did correct the items we knew were not properly working and installed the fixtures we requessted. I had just moved into the house and was not aware of all the problems. I would have liked it if the electrician had been more aggressive in checking out the place for other problems.
Tips
I would highly recommend that when contacting an electrician you find out the cost of travel, if there are any extra costs for coming out this far. Also, write down all the problems you are having and address them to the electrician. Before he leaves, check you list and make sure you have looked at everything. If you don't and you have to have them return, it is a cost to you.
