Description of service
Our local craft store always has free events for children and recently they had a card making class geared specifically towards children. I was surprised because I had just spent $30 on a card making class a few months before. This was great for my daughter. They had all kinds of arts and craft supplies spread out on all of the tables where the children sat. Each was given a blank card (their color choice). They got to decorate their cards with glue, glitter, stamps, stickers, yarn, foam pieces and patterned paper peices. My daughter really enjoyed this.
Review of Service
I think this was a great experience for my child and myself as well. I had the chance to watch her explore creatively and talk to her about the design choices she made. I liked the fact that she had so many choices and that there was no time limit for her to make her card. We ended up buying some of those supplies so that we can make cards together at home.
Tips
Try not to pay for really expensive art classes that your child might not enjoy, instead visit your local craft store and ask about free make-and-take classes throughout the month. Your child will love it. Most times the classes are all day and the children get to take their work home with them. The staff is usually very creative and helps your child really bring out their own creative side. Check your paper or ask the customer service department in your store when they hold these freebies. You might even make a habit out of it.
