Description of service
I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 yrs old. I always got acrylic nails, because of price and convenience. Recently I decided to get gel Nails because of my best friend swears by it, so i gave in. Wow! the process is pretty much the same if you are used to getting to full set or even just an overlay. The price is 10 dollars more than the regular full set but its basically the same process. There is a slight difference and the end and you can get a different tint of color in the gel, example. you can get a pink gel or clear gel color. What happens is they add the tips with glue first, the gel is in powder form and it is mixed acetone, they mix it with a brush and then apply it to the nail and the nail tips. When that dries, they buff and sculpts the gel to make it appear more natural, then this its were it gets different, they add the gel activator and let you sit under the UV heat for 5 mins, after you done, they remove the activator with acetone and then you can choose the color of your choice.
Review of Service
The Gel Nails is some what different from the regular acrylic nails. It definitely looks a lot better. It's More shiny and it looks a lot more natural. It is a lot harder for me, because ever since I've been getting gel nails they never seem to break. I always broke my nails when i got regular acrylic. It's good for me because i actually grew my nails with the gel, regular acrylic always broke them. My nails are becoming a lot stronger since I started using gel nails. It grew so long so now i just get over lays. I have to get a fill every 2 to 3 weeks but that may differ for everyone because it depends on how well you take care of it and how fast your nail grows. The 10 dollars more is definitely worth it
Tips
Be sure to wear gloves when washing dishes and doing gardening wear. Household chemicals tend to diminish the sheen of the nails, get your fill as soon as you need it, it will make it last longer
