the Price of Drum Lessons

My kids have taken various musical lessons before, but when a spot opened up at a coveted music instructor's school, I was ecstatic to offer advanced drum lessons to my oldest son. The lessons were once a week for five weeks, therefore $30 per lesson. The regular price is $50 per lesson, so financially we got a good deal.

The music instructor has a degree from a nearby university and co-owns a musical equipment store, but more importantly, he practices his craft continuously through his involvement in a band that plays regionally. My son does not own his own drum set, but since this particular instructor was a co-owner of a music store, he made arrangements for my son to obtain the use of a used set of drums in a back "practice" room of the store during store hours. All in all, this instructor provided a wonderful service, a fair price, and went beyond the call of duty. I'm currently hoping for another open slot so that my youngest son can get his chance at learning to play the drums with such an awesome instructor!

If your first choice for an instructor isn't available, ask if he or she has a waiting list in case they do get an opening.
