the Price of Drum Lessons

My son takes private drum lessons with a local expert who teaches from his home. We pay $75.00 a week for a one hour class.

The teacher is really spectacular. He has an extra set of drums at his house for my son to play on while he's at his lesson. This is wonderful as we don't have to lug anything around. He is a pro and has been playing for almost 30 years and is a retired public school teacher. He's great at making my son's lessons fun and great at encouraging him. He focuses equally on the technical side of my son's drumming and on the creative side of his drumming. He is able to work at my son's pace. If my son has obviously not been practicing and his teacher feels he can do better he calls to let us know. He also calls to let us know when he's doing a great job. He's great about taking the songs my son is learning at his school drumming class and helping him out with them. He's very flexible which is great because sometimes we have a lot going on.

If your child plays a large instrument, make sure that their teacher has a spare instrument at the lesson so you don't have to lug large things around.
