the Cost of Hypnotherapy

I went to a one on one hypnotherapist who specialized in smoking cessation. The cost of a one hour treatment was $130.

This was a terrible experience! I was very skeptical to begin with, as I've smoked for over 10 years and have tried everything I can think of to quit. This seemed like a real quack type of thing to do. However, a friend of mine bought me one session for my birthday. I do have the desire to quit smoking so I gave it a shot.

First of all, it didn't work. I went to my session and did what I was told but had a cigarette on the way home. I felt no decrease in my desire to smoke. I waited a week or two and when nothing changed I contacted the therapist about their supposed guarantee.

First she told me that the guarantee only offered to let me have as many sessions as it took if the first one didn't work. So I ended up going back several times. Those didn't work either.

I was then refused a refund because I was told that it wasn't working because I didn't want it bad enough.

I'd recommend staying away from this type of service. However, if you are sure you want to give it a shot, make sure any guarantees you are supposedly given are in writing and the specifics are clear to you.
