the Cost of Hypnotherapy

My hypnotherapist works out of a home office. She does house calls as well. So, for me, it worked out best for her to come to my home, which is what she did. When she arrived, we talked about why I felt I needed hypnotherapy and what I expected from it. She also explained the process and what hypnotherapy is and dispelled any misconceptions I may have had. She then had me sit in a comfortable chair and do some visualizations. It's not like being "put to sleep" ... it's more like being extremely relaxed while being extremely aware at the same time. Because I was having problems with anxiety and specific phobias, while in that relaxed/aware hypnotic state, she gave me suggestions aimed at reducing my reactions to those specific situations.

I would have to say this was excellent and outstanding service. My hypnotherapist was extremely professional while at the same time being informal enough to do this in my own home. She confirmed our appointment the day before. And she arrived on time. She was courteous and professional. And she was very good at what she did. I could tell this is as much art as it is a science. She was able to decipher what anxieties I had and turn that into an individualized treatment.

I found this hypnotherapist through the phone book. But I think references would have been helpful. I know I'll recommend her to others. I think it would help to get a general idea of what hypnotherapy is before contacting anyone. I didn't feel I needed to be any sort of expert on the process, but it helped that I had a general idea of what it was. It wasn't like the person on stage being made to squawk like a chicken. It wasn't anything like I'd seen in movies. Also, talking with the therapist beforehand would probably help to make sure he or she is a good fit. No matter how professional things are done, some people just click really well and some don't. And trust is an important part of the hypnotherapy experience.
