Description of service
The service I paid for was a one hour session with a hypnotherapist where the clock started as soon as I was hypnotized. The service involved using hypnotic techniques to put me a state of what was referred to as a "deep sleep." This, as explained to me, is similar to sleeping in that you are not completely conscious, but you still respond to outisde elements such as questions from the hypnotherapist. After one hour in this state of mind, the hypnotherapist will take you out of it and he will discuss what he found out with you through your subconscious.
Review of Service
I was initially skeptical of how a hypnotherapist may be able to use hypnotism to find out more about my inner disorders, but I was open to available options. The entire service does not really require much of the person being hypnotized because you are not able to remember your answers while you are hypnotized. This is not to say I woke up feeling like I had just taken an hour nap, but the process went by fairly quickly, however it seemed ineffective. The hypnotherapist, after bringing me back from the hypnotized state, discussed things that didn't really make too much sense for me because they were in my subconscious. This seemed to bring a logical downfall in these types of services, because if you are suffering from a disorder that affects your consciousness, why not start there? The hypnotherapist was asking me questions based off of what was in my subconscious levels, which I couldn't really get in touch with to discuss those issues further. The service, though it seemed interesting, ultimately did not do much for me because I was unable to relate to any of the answers I had provided while hypnotized.
Tips
I would not recommend this to anyone who doesnt believe that hypnotism works. If you feel that your problems are stuck deep down in your subconscious and you want to get in touch with what is going on down there, then this may be an option. For everyone else who is seeking therapy, I would overlook this option as it may just confuse you further.
