the Cost of Air Conditioner Maintenance

I paid a local guy to check out my window air conditioning unit for the Summer. He said a new screen was needed. He bought and installed it. The total cost was $45.

I think I got a great deal here. I don't know how much the screen even cost but I'm very busy and having to buy a screen and install it isn't something I have time for. He came over right when he said he would and cleaned off the fan part and checked the screen. He got the new screen and was back within 30 minutes. The installation took only a few minutes. He cleaned up after himself. He was very polite and professional. I wasn't sure if I should tip him, as he wasn't working for a company or anything. I will definitely have him do the same next summer and might even use his services for a few other things I need done around the house.

If you hire someone from the neighborhood like I did, you should find out if other people who use their service tip them. Make sure you get a good estimate before they start work so you know what it will cost.
