the Price of Interior House Painting

We purchased a used home and prior to moving into it we contracted to have the interior painted. The total cost of the material and labor for painting and clean up was $2,800.

The workmanship was very good and it only took three days to complete the job. It was obviously easier than had there been furniture inside the home. We met with the contractor at the home prior to any agreement and discussed the colors the be used, the quality of the paint to be used, and that there would be some paint o f each color left for us to keep for future touch-up.

We feel that we received a very good value for our investment and that the contractor and his crew were expeienced painters. They covered counter tops and masked fixtures toavoid paint spills and all the floors were completely covered.

We have no faults or problems with the work.

I would suggest getting references before signing any contract. Talk with the references and get their opinion as to the quality of work and was it done according to the agreed schedule. I would also suggest contacting more than one painter to obtain an estimate.

If possible, inspect the project at the end of day rather than interrupt the workers during the day. That said, I would look at the colors being applied on the first morning to be sure they are correct.
