Description of service
The services consisted of the painting of the interior walls and ceilings of two small and one very large room. The services included labor for one independent contractor / painter who both owned and operated her own business. The price of $1200 was for labor only. The paint was purchased by the home owner at a local home store and was not included in the services. The paint was a very high quality name brand and was acquired at a cost of $65 per gallon plus tax. About seven gallons were used in the three rooms, costing just under $500, bringing the total cost of the interior painting to $1700.
Review of Service
The painter was a highly skilled individual who, much to our surprise, did not tape off any part of the walls or ceiling. She used a drop cloth to protect the flooring, moving it as she went. She did not get a drop of paint on anything she wasn't supposed to. She brush painted the corners and edges free-hand, leaving a crisp line that appeared as though an incredible amount of prep work had been required. She worked quickly and efficiently, and completed the job in two and a half days. While that was a little bit longer than we had expected, she was professional, and incredibly non-intrusive -- she did not need to move furniture out of the room, allowing us to actually use the other rooms in our home while she was working.
This service was an incredible value, and definitely worth every penny.
Tips
Our painter was referred to us by a friend, so we were able to see her work first-hand before we hired her.
